Today and every day,
WE HELP YOU STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS!
Make a pledge to #StandUp4HumanRights on 10th of December! On this historic day in 1948, representatives of several nations came together to make a UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS (UDHR). Since then this powerful Declaration has guided and informed governments, law makers, activists, social workers and all individuals on the rights of every human being on earth. It is our guide as well.
We are with you: stand up for your rights!
The United States constitution upholds the tenets of the UDHR, and we help you, our South Asian community, to claim these rights.
THE RIGHT TO BE SAFE
Free from interpersonal (domestic) violence and abuse in your own home.
From sexual violence or bullying at school and university.
THE RIGHT TO BE TREATED EQUALLY
Without discrimination against race, cultural differences, language, religion, personal political views.
Without discrimination against gender and sexual orientation.
THE RIGHT TO LIVE WITH DIGNITY
To access appropriate healthcare and support, to protect savings and property from abuse, to lead a dignified and fulfilling life.
THE RIGHT TO JUSTICE
To seek protection and legal resolution in cases of interpersonal violence.
THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF THOUGHT AND SPEECH
The right of individuals to adhere to their own cultural identities.
And to seek acculturation and assimilation of American thought and practices.
Ask us: our light is always on
If you have a problem, don’t suffer in silence, talk to us. We will guide you to the right support and resources and be with you through the entire process.
This is our mission: Empowering South Asians to lead peaceful lives of dignity, hope, and self-sufficiency by providing comprehensive and culturally-sensitive services.
